SOLAR PV SYSTEMS & SERVICES
Going green with Solar Advanced Systems
We want to provide customers with a cost effective and environmentally favourable alternative supply for energy. We aim to do this with a friendly, reliable and honest approach.
All our staff at Solar Advanced Systems are trained to the highest standards and we aim to provide you with an installation that will benefit your investment. We will not sell you a solar PV system that will not benefit you financially, or reduce your carbon emissions.
If we deem a solar PV system not to be right for you or your property, we will advise you against it and advise you of a renewable energy source that would be better suited.

WHICH SOLAR PV SYSTEM IS RIGHT FOR YOU
We can provide a number of different solar PV systems that cater for different property needs, such as ground mounted systems, in roof systems and flat roof mounted solar PV systems. This means that we should be able to install a solar PV system that provides the right amount of renewable energy with the least visual impact.
In Roof Solar PV System
An in roof solar PV system is an elegant solution for tiled roofs that involves removing a number of tiles and mounting the solar PV panels flush with the surrounding tiles. This reduces the visual impact of the Solar Photovoltaic System and can help with planning permission in sensitive areas or listed buildings.
Flat Roof Solar PV System
On suitable flat roofs, Solar PV panels can be mounted on an aluminium mounting system which is angled at about 15 degrees to improve energy capture. These solar PV systems are quick and simple to install and following a site survey, Solar Advanced Systems will recommend a suitable system depending on the type and strength of the roof.
Ground Mounted Solar PV System
Solar PV panels can be installed on a ground mounted structure that can easily be orientated to maximize energy capture. These systems require minimal foundations and can be rapidly installed at a height above the ground to suit the requirements of the location. Ground mounted solar PV systems can also be incorporated into other garden structures.

DIFFERENT SOLAR THERMAL SOLUTIONS & HEAT PUMPS
Solar water heating systems use solar panels, called collectors, fitted to your roof. These collect heat from the sun and use it to warm water which is stored in a hot water cylinder.
There are two types of solar water heating panels, they are evacuated tubes (like in the picture right) and flat plate collectors. Flat
plates collectors can be fixed on the roof tiles or integrated into the roof.
Surface Collector
The surface collector requires shallow trenches to be dug adjacent to the building so that the collecting pipes can be laid approximately 1m below the surface. The pipes
can be laid straight or in a coil “slinky” fashion. As shown by the colour of the pipes in the figure below, the pumped fluid exiting the building is cold
but gradually warms as it passes through the pipes in the soil. By the time it has returned to the building, it has absorbed essential heat energy that can be
extracted by the heat pump for use in the house.
Borehole
In the borehole arrangement, the collector pipe loop is Installed in the boreholes. The depth and number of holes is dependant
on a number of factors, but the rock and earth structure, it’s ability to convey it’s heat energy at each layer, and the depth
of the water table are all contributing factors. Depths of 100m are no uncommon.
Once the pipes are installed into the boreholes, they are backfilled with a grout that protects the loop, stabilizes the hole and enhances the conductivity between the earth and collecting pipes
Air Source Heat Pumps. (ASHP)
The modern Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) system offers a viable alternative to traditional heating and hot water boiler installations. They
are relatively simple to install, cheap to run, don’t require gas or yearly safety certificates and can offer efficiency levels of in excess of 300%.
